TEAMStar for Retirees

 

 

 

Teamster Retirees' health care needs are a major concern and a very important issue at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. As is the case with many seniors across the country, our retirees are very concerned about the quality of their medical care and the cost of their Medicare Supplement coverage.

 

With this in mind, the Department of Retiree Affairs developed the TEAMStar program for Teamster Retirees, their spouses and surviving spouses age 65 and older. TEAMStar offers Retirees a policy underwritten and administered by United American Insurance Company. This coverage is designed to supplement Medicare and help Retirees reduce their out-of-pocket expenses.

 

There are several different policies for Retirees with different needs. There is also a prescription discount card available on some policies.

 

In addition to low group rates, the TEAMStar program also provides:

 

• "Automatic" Claims Filing PLUS takes the paperwork out of insurance filing and helps ensure all eligible benefit dollars due under your coverage are paid;
• Toll-free help line to receive information about your coverage or claims.
